Tenth Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams formally announced her re-election bid Friday morning.
Adams, who was elected in 2004 as the solicitor of the circuit that covers Anderson and Oconee County, filed her bid at the State Republican Headquarters in Columbia and cited her office’s conviction rate as one of the reasons she should be re-elected.
“Our defendant conviction rate at trial is 89-percent,” said Adams. “That is the highest in the state. We have put an average of 20-percent more sex offenders in jail than our predecessor and in the last twelve months alone, criminals in our system have received sentences totaling over 2013 years.”
Adams has over 14 years of service as a prosecutor in the South Carolina judicial system and feels that her office has helped eliminate crime in its district.
“It’s a record I am proud of and a record the voters I believe can appreciate,” she said. “We have honored our campaign commitments by reducing the number of inmates under our responsibility at the local jail, by improving the working relationship with law enforcement and saving their tax dollars by cutting court time.” |
