(COLUMBIA) Tenth Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams today traveled to State Republican Headquarters in Columbia and formally filed as a candidate in her bid for reelection as solicitor of the circuit covering Anderson and Oconee Counties. Adams was elected unopposed in the 2004 General Election, following her victory in that year’s GOP Primary.
“I am honored by the confidence and trust the voters have placed in our efforts these last several years and I am excited about the opportunity to offer for continued service as 10th Circuit Solicitor”, said Adams, who has over 14 years service as a prosecutor in the state’s criminal justice system.
“Our defendant conviction rate of at trial is 89% - the highest in the state. We have put an average of 20% more sex offenders in jail than our predecessor and in the last twelve months alone criminals in our system have received sentences totaling over 2013 years. It’s a record I am proud of and a record the voters I believe can appreciate. We have honored our campaign commitments by reducing the numbers of inmates under our responsibility at the local jail, by improving the working relationship with law enforcement, and saving their tax dollars by cutting court time. We cut court time and still got more convictions than any where else so for the 10th Circuit, less does mean more: More convictions, more savings and less wasted time and money. Our recently funded and launched Drug Court and our nationally acclaimed program Juvenile Deferred Prosecution Program are just two of the many successes we’ve had these last several years. I am looking forward to the campaign and with their support, to serving the voters for another term.”
Adams, a long time resident of Seneca and Clemson graduate, was joined at her filing by husband Eddie Adams. |
